The TSA needs to change the rules to require every passenger boarding a commercial flight to show ID.
A 15-year old girl stole money from her family then ran away from home, by boarding an airplane, to be with a boy she met online. Though her family attempted to paint a picture of the perfect family, clearly the young lady has some problems. Now she’s back in Alaska – in jail. I will refrain from commenting on that because the real question is: Why does airport security require anyone to go through checkpoints, searches, etc.
Not only is it irresponsible, but it is also dangerous to assume that no one under the age of 18 has ill motives.
We live in an age where taking one’s shoes off at the airport is as common as showing a boarding pass. If security measures are important for passengers over 18, it seems the rules should also apply to all passengers who are 15, 16 or 17 years old.
