Undercover cops are going to bars to find people who are drunk.

No wonder people I meet from other places think Texans are stupid.

My Conversation With "E"

Filed under: Uncategorized — kenlie @ 3:07 am

I was multi-tasking tonight – talking with my friend, E.  I told him about my frustration about gas and an energy bill.

Please note: I have family and friends in the oil business and I hope they continue to do very well.  I just think there’a a problem and a bigger one coming…

I’m anxious to hear what you all will say, as I’m still trying to figure this out.  I haven’t formed a concrete opinion yet.

Below, is part of my conversation with E:

E: i think u’ve gotten more conservative

MsTiggy: what?!!!

MsTiggy: i’m actually not very happy with the president right now

E: why

MsTiggy: well, gas is going to shoot up like crazy again

MsTiggy: and he’s a wuss

MsTiggy: brb

E:??

MsTiggy: oh my god, a HUGE spider was in my room and it had to die

MsTiggy: i think we need an eneregy bill that can regulate better

E: gas ain’t gettin any cheaper

E: "he’s a wuss?"

E: explain

E: see, i think he’s just incompetent

MsTiggy: that’s waht i mean..i mean, he’s not stepping up and i’ve been defending him. it’s just too hard now

E: stepping up in what sense

E: i mean

MsTiggy: i mean, the war is out of control and it has to be fixed now..nothing else to say about that..but the oil industry is rolling in cash now and people are having trouble and will soon be having more even filling up their car

E: i’m starting to fall in love

E: continue

MsTiggy: well, he’s the president..and part of protecting us is protecting us here too..it’s just gotten so hard to defend him..he’s making an ass out of himself and people – even people with money – are going to feel even more pain just to go to work, school, grocery shopping..while the oil industry is booming like crazy..you can regulate this without turning commi

E: I couldn’t agree more

E: the thing is

E: a critical part of national policy in coming years will be the smooth transition from oil-based vehicles/power to other sources

E: and the transition has to be smooth

E: we could use some of those excess revenues to finance the necessary research

E: but what will happen if we don’t act soon

E: is that there will be this "ah hah" moment

E: where the market will say

E: "we’re running out of oil"

E: or

E: countries will turn off the spigot

E: and then prices will go through the roof

E: and we’ll have no way out

E: except to (a) pay high prices

E: and (b) finance this research quickly at the same time

E: which means …

E: LOTS OF MONEY

MsTiggy: yes, i think i agree

E: can you believe this?

MsTiggy: no, i must be very tired

E: yeah, tired of this administration!

MsTiggy: may i have permission to copy this onto my blog?

E: hehe

E: what

E: part

MsTiggy: i just don’t know if i can bare to write this again

E: "bare" = naked

MsTiggy: from here to now

MsTiggy: i think we need an eneregy bill that can regulate better

E: gas ain’t gettin any cheaper

E: sure

E: put it up

MsTiggy: bare also means carry the burden

E: bear means

E: carry the burden

MsTiggy: i alway get the bear/bare wrong

E: it’s ok, i had fun with it

More Wasted Tax Dollars

Filed under: Uncategorized — kenlie @ 3:06 am

Take a couple of minutes and look at this article someone sent to me earlier today.

Here’s an excerpt from the article.

“Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a conservative.”

Wow, leave it to assholes from Berkeley to come up with more pointless ways to waste our tax money.

I didn’t whine much when I was little because my parents taught me how to behave. So this article begs the question: what kind of parents did these kids have? And what kind of lifestyle and environment did they live in?

I whine sometimes now, but some of the whiniest, pussies I know are liberal.

As we grow up, we all have the choice to decide whose opinions we value, but we also have the opportunity to learn things ourselves and to express our own views.

This is an incredulous waste of tax dollars. And since I’m fairly conservative, I guess I’ll whine about it.

Note: the researcher did admit that “that liberal Berkeley is not representative of the whole country. But within his sample, he says, the results hold.”

My problem with this is everyone’s tax money is paying for this. The person who sent this article to me made a good point.

“ I think this is BS but it is funny to see that people actually do research this stuff. I know I was mischievous and spoiled… but I don’t think I was whiney when I was little. And, considering how I tend to side more-so with the "liberal" movement, I fit right into the results of this study. But, I still don’t think that has much to do with why I am this way. I’d like to see this exact same study at a ‘conservative’ school and see the results.”

I’d like to see this research completed in Texas or in Orange County, CA or almost anywhere else. But that would waste even more money so I won’t ask anyone to research this on my account.

The "Official Scrabble Dictionary" Is A Joke!

Filed under: life, world — kenlie @ 3:09 am

Since when is a colloquial like “git” r done allowed in Scrabble?! Since the mid 90’s when the Official Scrabble Dictionary was created.

Most curse words have been removed, and I don’t understand that either.

If the book allows nonsense (including letters that don’t make real words,) then why not allow curse words – which are at least real words?

It seems Communist to me.

The Scrabble dictionary was created so the uneducated people of the world could have a shot to win the game. It makes sense, doesn’t it? If they can add a bigger fan base to the game, they’ll sell more games. And they’ll sell more stupid dictionaries.

In my house, I have a dictionary – several in fact. So it’s not necessary to spend 10 bucks on the Scrabble version.

I play by the rules on the box – even the ones I don’t like. So if you play with me, expect to play with Webster too.

I’ve Never Said It’s Right For Everyone, But

Filed under: Uncategorized — kenlie @ 3:14 am

Gastric by-pass serves its purpose.

In the past, I’ve heard “Surgery is the easy way out.” Or “Wouldn’t you have more respect for yourself if you just did it on your own?” To these people, I ask – Who has ever had gastric by-pass then said it’s easy? And – Who is the one losing weight post surgery?

Incase you don’t know, it’s not easy…In fact, nothing about weight-loss is easy. You’ve got to be mentally ready to accept the changes and it’s frustrating. But the rewards for the effort can be great.

I won’t make excuses. My excessive weight gain, several years ago, was my fault. Sure, there were circumstances which made it easy to do, and I could come up with a couple reasons most people would buy into (at least, to my face.) But the fact is – one can only blame circumstances for so long, and it’s my responsibility to take care of myself. But I can do it the way I choose to do it.

Eating right and exercising takes direction just like anything else. Gastric by-pass is nothing more than a jumpstart. It still takes time and a copious amount of effort.

Whatever your views on the surgery, my following thoughts still apply:

Society gets on its soapbox by saying “I’d never let myself get like that.” Good. You shouldn’t. It creates a lot of unnecessary problems, but it can be the result of them too.
Most of us have experienced the snowball effect, haven’t we?

What bothers me is when people make ignorant, self-serving comments like “Well, if I could lose the weight for you, I would have done it already.” This implies that someone overweight isn’t as strong as someone who is skinnier, and I have a problem with that. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, but empty comments like that don’t help. Maybe comments like that were from a good place, but it hurt a hell of a lot more than it helped.

On the other hand, society should stop judging the obese, particularly when they’re doing what they can to change themselves. It takes a lot of time and work. And while people who are overweight might be lazy, there are plenty of thin people who are just as lazy.

My point is that, if MsTiggy is skinny it does not make her better than the fattest person on the planet. And being fat shouldn’t make anyone the butt of everyone’s jokes or acceptable as the basis of mediocre movies.

We all make mistakes, and most of us have regrets. But the goal isn’t to get perfect so we can knock others down. At least, that has never been my goal. Mine is to be a better version of MsTiggy than I was yesterday. And until you’re faced with the same struggles, don’t be so quick to criticize.

Merry Christmas To Me!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kenlie @ 3:23 am

I got my Pearl Jam Christmas vinyl in the mail today, and it’s great!

The vinyl contains “Little Sister” with Robert Plant – from the Hurricane Katrina benefit at Chicago’s House of Blues. And “Gone” which was written a few months ago, when they were in the northeast.

You would think a person could have enough autographed memorabilia, bootlegs and stuff, but I disagree.

Keep bringing it boys. I love it!
